Andy Kershaw is a broadcast journalist, reporter and producer at BBC Radio Sheffield where he presented the station’s CSV Action Desk between 2001 and 2008.

He is now a BBC news reporter at BBC Radio Sheffield, with a community brief around South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire.

He has presented BBC Radio Sheffield’s Lunchtime and Sunday Breakfast Shows. Andy is an accomplished reporter, presenter, facilitator, event chair and compere. He has produced many packages, features, projects and campaigns for the BBC over the last 8 years.

In 2001 Andy joined BBC Radio Sheffield as the CSV Action Desk Presenter, where he has been responsible for the stations’ daily action desk bulletins featuring community groups and news from across the region.

Andy set up the station’s ‘Good Neighbour Appeal’ which raised over £100,000 for the victims of the South Yorkshire floods and the CSV Actionline, which he manages, dealt with over 12,500 calls from listeners affected by the flooding and from people and businesses offering all kinds of support to those who lost everything in June 2007.

Andy produced BBC Radio Sheffield’s ‘Springwatch’ and ‘Dawn Chorus’ campaigns. He recently reported ‘live’ from Wootton Bassett on the moving and emotional repatriation of Corporal Liam Riley from Killamarsh in North Derbyshire.

Liam died whilst on foot patrol in Helmand province in Afghanistan on Monday 1 February 2010. You can hear Andy’s report’s on BBC Radio Sheffield throughout the day.
