Facilitation

Andy Kershaw has assisted a number of community based organisations and groups through facilitation. This is the skill required to enable effective groups dynamics and team working and ensuring that the focus of the event, meeting or conference is not side-tracked by personality issues or hidden agendas. It is about effective communication and teamwork, identifying and overcoming barriers and setting joint or shared goals. Facilitation can assist with ‘brainstorming’ sessions, target or objective setting activity and setting short, medium or long term strategies.

Andy Kershaw has spent many years in a management and leadership role. He understands the concept of team work, common goals and sharing. Effective facilitation involves taking an impartial role in the event or activity.

If you are organising an event you need participants to focus on the task in hand. Andy Kershaw acts as an independent facilitator to stimulate discussion set the scene and support members or participants to engage in discussion and debate in order to encourage and nurture new ideas and contributions. Effective facilitation can also assist in team-building to build and cohesive and interactive team.

Andy Kershaw can act as a pragmatic referee and time-keeper for your event, regulating the discussion to ensure that all members contribute and that issues of equlaity, dignity and respect are maintained. At the end of your event or activity, Andy can also use his communication skills to ensure effective feedback.
